Dragon's Tribute

A senior's tradition of thanking the people who taught almost everything that anyone needs to learn in life; more than just finding the value of "X" or more than just knowing how Julius Ceasar died and even more than mixing chemicals...


It's learning how life must go on and how to face life's challenges.

To start off, the tribute's title was THE FINAL CURTAIN CALL. Sounds sentimental, doesn't it? Our final bow to all our performances. Anyway, the event was hosted by two of our batchmates; LOUIE JOHN OCEJA of Compassion and MARA JUNE BACLAY of Patience.

The Invocation was led by LOVELY MAE RILE of Patience. Afterwards, The National Anthem was sung by Kimberly Joy Paduano of Kindness. Then the program proper; first everybody danced the "FIRST DAY HIGH" by Kamikazee and then some select students danced "WE'RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER" by HSM1 CAST to finish.

Then, LOVELY RILE together with ROBERTO MAGHIBON and MAVERICK AGUILAR, PENNY TORTAL and FRANCHEZCA DUMAPI lip-synched their way to entertainment. They lip-synches their winning piece from the past year's LitMus contests from second year to the present.

KESSIE RICHER, ANGELICA ESPANOLA, LOUIE MAE CHU, XANDRA DELFIN and ANGELIE GONZALES sang to their hearts with the hit song JUST STAND UP. Everybody Just loves having Turkey skins when they sing, very heartfelt. Nakakapanindig balahibu kung baga.



This part is one of the funniest part of the program, the segment; BOYS PADAYAW where the boys dressed as girls danced as if its their last. All of them were "angayan" to be girls. LOL

The floor heated up as our very soft-bodied dancers hit the stage with their very last dance. FYI, these dancers have been competing so much yet still their bond didn't fade and as a matter of fact it even got stronger. This all-out girl dancers are the girls that gave, not only the batch but also the school, great pride to brag to other schools and departments. JOANNE MEDRANO, PENNY TORTAL, STEPHANIE ALMAJO, PATRICIA ARANETA, PATRICIA TEVES, JOLYN TEMPOROSA, CLAUDINE MIRA, KATHLEEN BASCON and APRIL LEDESMA moved their bodies for the last time on stage in school but we all know someday they'll get even better.





Then, shrieking and yelling started as the boys serenaded everyone with their "heart-melting" songs and renditions. Two boy bands sang on the stage, KENDALL BANSALAN'S BAND (picture above) and LLOYD DIANO'S BAND and of course may girls band man, OBG's ANELIE ELIVER, ANELLE TONOGBANUA and MICHELLE BRITANICO and the other girl band by LISETTE ISLES and GEORGIA DAGANASOL.



One of the funniest part of the program: the CHARACTER IMPERSONATION. First, lip-synch ni KATHLEEN BASCON and partner JD MAGALLANO as Sharpay and Ryan Evans of HSM. Then a sizzling confrontation of Katherine and Scarlet by JESSICA DIANNE DE OCA and APRIL LEDESMA. Followed by the "NAKAKAKILIG2x" act by LEO DELFINADO as Miggy (John Lloyd Cruz), ANGELIE GONZALES as Laida (Sarah Geronimo) and MAVERICK AGUILAR as Mackoy (Rayver Cruz). Love triangle and drama. Then Miggy transformed to Sir Armando with FRANCHEZCA DUMAPI as Beatrice Tingson a.k.a. Betty and JD MAGALLANO as Nicolas Mora. Then came in the hit teleserye Tayong Dalawa; staring the IAN's of the batch, IAN SY as Gerald Anderson and IAN DIVINAGRACIA as Jake Cuenca. They protected Akon, played by LOUIE OCEJA from the kidnap plan of the Abu Sayaff. As Jake died of protecting Akon, came in the heartfelt rendition of Francis M. by MOWGLI MECHA of the hit song "KALEIDOSCOPE WORLD", and called the attention of CHARLIE CHAVEZ as Santino, the miracle boy and resurrected Jake. Then ang "love ng masa" na si Pareng Willie Revillame by DAN ISIDRO came in and celberated Jake's resurrection. The End ... for the Impersonating segment of course.


Then the Funniest and Most Hilarious Part: The Bb. Undas 2009. "The One-and-only-version-for-a-lifetime" beauty pageant. Hosted by the Host LOUIE JOHN OCEJA. The following are the contestants: MAVERICK AGUILAR as Thumbelina, ROBERTO MAGHIBON as HIlabtera inTA CHIsmosa for short HITACHI, CHARLIE CHAVEZ as Santina, the alter-ego of his character, EDMUND LOUISE ACOSTAN simply as Louise, JAMES CORPUS as Kris and IAN DIVINAGRACIA as Jessica. The Q&A portion of the pageant was the hilarious part, funny answers such as "My motto in life is keep off the grass!", "My philosophy in life is beware of dogs!", "If I were an animal, i'd be a monkey...because monkeys love bananas and so do I."




Then the sad part comes in, as the Tribute Proper opened. It started off by announcing two teachers who have served the institute for years and are finally leaving the blackboards; MR. FRANCISCO GLORIBA and MRS. ELIZABETH MAGBANUA. Our governor: KATHLEEN BASCON delivered her speech, holding back her tears but she just couldn't and cried away reminding us of our defeats and victories and how we remained united as one strong unbreakabe batch. She also embarked how lucky we were to have been the last seniors to experience the powerful whistles of MS. MAGS and the corny yet seemingly funny jokes of TAY IKO.



Of course, who would forget about the other people who taught us many stuffs? After some video presentation from the fourth year and second year; JESSICA DE OCA and JD MAGALLANO, did the honors to award the teachers by their closest "showbiz ego" corresponding to their unique personalities.



AND ALL THE SUDDEN IT WAS OVER, YET WE KNOW IN OUR HEARTS THAT THE TEACHERS WHO TAUGHT US EVERYTHING WE NEED TO KNOW, WOULD REMEMBER THIS BATCH NOT BY WORST TIMES, BUT BY THE FUN AND JOYFUL MEMORIES.
